State Superintendent Endorses Evans for School Board

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell has endorsed John Lee Evans, Ph.D., for San Diego School Board in his bid to unseat Mitz Lee in District A. 

This endorsement comes on the heels of other endorsements including the San Diego Education Association, California School Employees Association, San Diego Democratic Women's Club, Democracy for America and the League of Conservation Voters. 

Individual endorsers include Donna Frye, Susan Davis, Toni Atkins, Francine Busby, Richard Barrera, Howard Wayne and many teachers and parents throughout the city.

In response to the endorsements, Evans said, “We are pleased at the broad base of support that we have in this campaign, as indicated by these endorsements.  However, the most important endorsements are all of the parents, teachers and community members who are pushing for change on the school board in 2008.”
